Biryani

I love Indian spices and flavours.  As with all spicy food though we’re all about the taste without the heat here so a curry dish that had the rice in it already appealed to me as rice always cools things down.  Also, you chuck everything into a big pan and throw it in the oven after doing a little sauteing, lovely.

There is cauliflower, carrot, green beans, mushrooms and potatoes in this dish along with some frozen peas so it’s pretty damn healthy, especially as I used brown basmati and steam fried rather than using oil.

The only changes I made were to leave out the coridander/cilantro garnish as it’s the work of the devil and to not bother with the cashew nuts on top as I would have had to sit there listening to Jim moan and he picked them all off…

It was a really tasty meal and we all enjoyed it a lot which was good as it made an absolute ton and I ate it for lunch twice and there was still more left.  Next time I will make half.
